Film Night Q & A

1.  Do I need to book for the film or the dinner?

We do not take advance bookings for either the film or the dinner.  You turn up on the night and pay for your film ticket and your dinner when the doors open.

2.  When are film nights?

Film nights are held on a Saturday night every fortnight.

3.  Where are the films screened?

The films are screened at the Maleny Community Centre, which is on Maple Street in the centre of town.

4.  What time does the film start?

The film starts at 7.15 pm.  We ask if you are planning to come along that you arrive by 7 pm so that everyone is seated by 7.15 pm.

5.  How much is entry?

Entry to the film is $13 for temporary members and $8 for members.  Student passes are $8 and children under 5 are $4.

6.  I've heard you can buy a meal before the film.  How does that work?

Pomodoras is a very well-known local restaurant who caters for the MFS film nights.

The Maleny Community Centre doors open at 6 pm before the film.  You buy your ticket for the film and then go inside to pay for and order your meal.  A main meal costs between $13 and $15, dessert is also available for additional cost.  There are a selection of three meals offered every film night, one of which is usually gluten free.  If you have any special dietary requirements, please contact Pomodoras Cafe on the day before 4 pm.

The philosophy behind the awesome food and the fabulous flavours is “Slow food”. “Slow food” – fosters community awareness of food that is good, clean and fair – that the food we eat tastes good and should be good for us; that it is grown and made in ways that respect animals, the environment and our health; and that the producers who grow or create it should be fairly rewarded for their endeavour ...
